The Trinity is a Christian doctrine. Because of the Arian heresy (denying the divinity of Christ), the church responded with the Nicene Creed. The Council of Nicea can be seen as a fulfillment of John 14:26 where Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to lead the church into all truth.

This is not unprecedented in Scripture. Acts 15 records the first church council to decide once and for all whether gentiles were required to be circumcized and to keep other parts of the Jewish ceremonial law. The apostles came to a decision and this decision was and is binding according to Jesus promise in Matt 16:19.

Lastly, I believe the Nicene Creed is biblical.
